Cafe Libertine: A Fine Dining Experience in Uptown

When I walked into Cafe Libertine in Uptown, I wanted to run back to my house. The music was blaring and the sounds of dozens of shouting people could be heard across the whole restaurant. As I sat down in the comfortable and padded booth, I could not even hear the person next to me. My father asked if the music could be turned down, and with snappy service this issue was addressed immediately. Now with the ability to talk, we ordered our appetizers: smoked artichokes and the West Coast Oysters.

As my family and I conversed, I observed the incoming food to other tables. The faces of the guests seemed astonished. The delicious meals were coming in left and right. The way these cooks prepare the food seems very efficient and speedy. That’s an A in my book.

The way this restaurant works is that the food comes to you as it is being made, so the artichokes came ten minutes before the oysters. I have to say, the appetizers get my only A in my last several reviews. The way they stood out really made my eyes flare at the sight of them. Next up was the main course, and with my expectations high, I gashed my teeth into their trademark dish, the cheeseburger. The restaurant just kept on getting better and better. Needless to say, the main course also hit the A mark on my standards. Since it was my birthday, the kind and perky waitress had brought me a chocolate mousse. It was very sweet and tasty with a caramel filling, but the way it was so rich presented itself with an A-. To sum it all up, Cafe Libertine is worth the noise and will go down in my books as one of the better restaurants out there. My  overall rating, including service and price, is without any surprise, an A-.
